Introducing "Projects" for ChadGPT

What are Projects?

Think of Projects as digital workspaces that keep your chats, files, and AI instructions in one tidy, smart, named folder. Got multiple clients? Juggling a few side hustles? Running marketing and HR from the same desk? Projects let you keep everything separate, organized, and easy to jump back into.

Each Project has:

  • Its own Chat History (no more digging through random threads)
  • Its own File Uploads (finally, some knowledge and of course, boundaries)
  • Its own Brand Voice (because your law firm and your personal projects probably don’t sound the same)
  • Its own Custom Instructions (Each project is like a mini-GPT that knows how to follow the same directions every time).

All of this combines to give your chats the context they need to respond thoroughly and completely customized to you, your work, and your brand.

What You Can Do (Right Now)

This first version of Projects (we’re calling it MVP, because that’s what it is) includes everything you need to get started:

✅ Create and name new Projects
✅ Switch between Projects with a handy Project List in the left sidebar
✅ Upload files to a specific Project (and only that Project)
✅ Assign a Brand Voice to each Project

✅ Assign “Custom Instructions” to each project.
✅ Pick up past chats or start fresh inside each workspace

Basically: everything’s now smarter, tidier, and more “you.”

Build Your Own Mini-GPT (a custom AI assistant)

Here’s where it gets spicy: each Project can have its own Custom Instructions—which means you’re not just organizing your chats, you’re training them. Like a boss.

With a few lines of guidance, you can shape ChadGPT to behave like a dedicated little expert. It’s like building your own GPT from scratch, you’re not programming a custom AI model, but it’s close enough to be dangerous—in a good way.

Try It Out

To create your first Project:

  1. Click the dropdown in the sidebar where it says your current Project name.
  2. Select “New Project.”
  3. Give it a name (anything but “Untitled 1,” please).
  4. Select an existing “Brand Voice” or create a new one.
  5. Start working smarter.

Oh, and don’t worry—your old chats are still there. They’re near the bottom on the left organized by folders you created before (you created some folders, right?). You get it.

One Last Thing

If you’re the type who likes clean files, consistent tone, and knowing where stuff is—Projects is your new best friend. If you’re not that type… well, you will be now.
